Taking to Twitter, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) slammed Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president JP Nadda over his answer on CBI enquiry being conducted on political leaders in West Bengal.

The TMC raised the question that in what capacity the national president of BJP is saying that punishment to the accused political leaders of Bengal will take time.

Sharing a video on the official account of TMC, the party said that it is proved that CBI works for the BJP. “@BJP4India = CBI, hence proved! @JPNadda talks about punishment in cases being investigated by the CBI at a political event. In what capacity is the National President of BJP saying this? Is CBI then working hand in glove with BJP? Is CBI a mere puppet of
@narendramodi ji?” tweeted TMC.

The video shared by the TMC shows Nadda’s answer to a question raised by a person at the citizen meet at Kala Mandir in Kolkata during his visit to the state. The person asked about why the CBI is not giving any punishment to the accused political leaders of Bengal, to which JP Nadda replied, "It will take time".

Meanwhile, TMC spokesperson Kunal Ghosh slammed JP Nadda's CBI comment with Suvendu Adhikari's name being on the chargesheet of the CBI in the Narada case.

"BJP should not even dare to speak about the CBI. There is a person sitting beside Nadda whose name is on the chargesheet of the CBI. Why does the CBI not arrest him?" asked Kunal Ghosh.
